Overview
“Star Nimbus” is a public art sculpture created for the Livingston Healthcare Hospital in Livingston, MT. The sculpture is installed outside the campus building next to the walking path that leads to a nature preserve. This piece is meant to enliven and brighten. The yellow color brings a positive energy to a healing environment. The piece is abstract in nature and allows the viewer to create their own interpretation.
Goals
The Livingston Healthcare Foundation integrates and curates artwork throughout the campus and is interested in expanding their sculpture garden further enhancing the healing environment of the Hospital.
Process
Through the approval of the Livingston Healthcare Foundation commitee and the installation assistence of campus grounds manager, this piece was bought to life through initial drawings and scale models, I hand sculpted this piece in my Paradise Valley Montana workshop and contracted a local auto body paint shop to coat the sculpture in an ultra bright Yellow automotive paint. The sculpture is installed in a fashoin so the piece can be moved to allow for future expansion of the hospital.
