Overview

Internationally renowned artist Erwin Redl collaborated with UAP and Madison Square Park Conservancy on a major temporary public art installation for the Mad. Sq. Art. Program in New York City. Redl’s installation titled Whiteout features a luminous white carpet of LED lights suspended across the central oval lawn. UAP worked with the artist to develop and fabricate hundreds of transparent white spheres, each embedded with a programmed LED light and suspended 2 feet above ground from a grid of slender steel poles and cabling. The spheres move in response to the environmental conditions and are animated with a pattern.
