Overview
Rising into the Downtown Austin Skyline is a 60 foot tall mural inspired by native Texas wildflowers and how the strength and resilience of these flowers relate to the story of us all as human beings. The mural is comprised of Acrylic paint on Aluminum panels, at a dimension of 14′ x 60′ and took the artist 2 weeks to complete.
Goals
The goal of this project was to beautify a space in transition, in an effort to create an outdoor meeting place for social activities and celebrations.
Process
This project was spearheaded by the Downtown Austin Alliance, The Writing On The Walls program, and funding partner HPI. The process took nearly a year of planning and organizing before an artist was selected for the final mural.
