Where Cultures Meet is a 15 foot tall beautiful metaphor representing the many cultures of the world. The sculpture features 10 life size figures of different ethnic heritage, swirling around the globe. An inscription on the base reads, “We share the same planet. We share many common themes in our lives. Let us embrace our similarities and respect our differences.”
The sculpture is the focal point of the new library at California State University at Dominguez Hills in Los Angeles. The architecture, landscaping, and design of the surrounding area all add to a breathtaking sculptural setting in which the viewer can see the sculpture from every angle--even from above!
The sculpture was delivered on time and completed in a year.
This sculpture is unique and shows the artistic range of Benjamin Victor. The figures are naturalistically rendered, yet they are a part of an abstract, conceptual design. This work is a true masterpiece of our time.
