Overview
‘We See The Same Stars’ is a 21ft long x 10ft diameter ceiling mounted mirror polished stainless steel artwork set within a 34ft high Rotunda entrance to UCF’s new build ROTC building and is composed of 13 folded sections incorporating 50 stars.
Goals
I was the lead artist commissioned to create an uplifting and aspirational architecturally integrated artwork epitomizing the high ideals of military service. The artwork is mounted high within the Rotunda's main entrance and is designed to draw the visitor's gaze upwards in order to contemplate the significance of the nation's flag as a symbol of unity.
Process
Working in collaboration with the University's architects and building contractors the stainless steel sculpture was installed in sections during the building's construction and dedicated at the building's opening ceremony.
