Overview

Water inspired photography embellished with encaustic wax. Two “32” x”32″ and one larger 42″x42″ piece are installed in the living room are of a seaside townhouse. Photographed with Polaroid cameras, the photos are then scanned, printed and mounted on birch wood. Encaustic wax is applied with a brush and then worked with a palette knife and heat gun to create texture which mimics the water. The pieces are then polished numerous times which results in a luminous surface.

Goals

The client being in close proximity to the beach decided on pieces which were water inspired.

Process

Artwork was seen by the client in a gallery and the gallery owner collaborated with the client. Works were selected and the project completed within the 6 week time frame.
