Date of completion: March 2016 (14 months from contract to completion)
Commissioning Agency: Regional Transportation District Denver
Goals
Inspired by contemporary nanoscience research at Colorado School of Mines and experimental dome building in Trinidad and Gardner, the metal relief sculptures for the 40th & Airport station honor the experimentation, innovation and future problem-solving that are critical to the culture of Colorado.
Process
The collaboration was mainly with Demiurge Fabrication who engineered, built and installed the sculpture. I collaborated with RTD and Demiurge with site specifications, pedestrian flow and site lines, permits, fabrication and install timeline.
