Overview

Designed to reflect the area’s ongoing transformation, as well as Kwun Tong’s optimistic spirit. Reminiscent of the infinity symbol, Time Loop’s form creates spaces for passers-by to sit, relax and become immersed in the installation. Engraved in two languages within the timber frame is an ‘infinite’ poem that reflects upon the passage of time. Materials consisted of using sustainably sourced steam-bent timber.

Goals

UAP wanted to assist in establishing a innovative design underpinned by research and technology.

The ultimate end goal was to immerse the community, through the form of Time Loop to create spaces for passers-by to sit, relax and become immersed in the installation.

Process

Time Loop was made at UAP’s Shanghai workshop, using sustainably sourced steam-bent timber. Working closely with Paul Cocksedge Studio and Sino Property Group, UAP’s Shanghai team assisted in the material exploration, fabrication and installation of this project.

Engaged by Sino Property Group, Paul Cocksedge Studio designed Time Loop, a bespoke sculptural seating installation for Yue Man Square in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong.
