Client: Ouray International Film Festival

Overview

A commission by the Ouray International Film Festival. This six foot tall, wood-based sculpture was commissioned by the festival to be a permanent addition to The Wright Opera House in Ouray, Colorado. The goal was to capture the essence of film and movies in a mountain setting. The sculpture was created using various types of pine, cedar, and plywood, along with acrylic paint, and a heavy duty marine varnish for added durability and UV protection.

Goals

The goal of this project was to create a permanent, yet moveable sculpture for the festival and the opera house. The festival wanted a sculpture that would capture the essence achievement in filmmaking that could not only life at The Wright Opera House, but also be transported in a custom create to various events.
