Overview

Art Nouveaux paintings by Alphonso Mucha, enlarged and reproduced in finely detailed venetian mosaics by the Apperlo / Stanisic Art Glass Studio.
Nine mosaics represent following themes: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Dance, Art, Music, Performing Arts and Poetry ( 65m2 )

Process

Mosaic panels were fabricated in the artist studio by a team of six artists in a period of seven months. They were entirely fabricated out of colored smalti (mosaic) glass produced by Orsoni Glass Company from Venice, Italy.

Approximately 400,000 individual glass pieces were carefully crafted and placed by hand on Aluminum Honeycomb Mounting and Support Panels, with special two component epoxy resin Keralastic T made by Mapei Company. Those special and very durable materials made the panels light weight, easy for transport and installation and resistant to harsh weather conditions (snow, moisture, extreme temperatures).

Completed mosaic panels were transported in custom made crates during a seven day drive by truck from Serbia to Moscow, Russian Federation. A team of four artists from Stanisic Art Glass Studio installed the panels on the exterior walls in a period of seven days. The panels were attached with anchors and screws in the previously prepared niches on the walls.
