Overview
This striking, modern, 27 foot tall stainless steel sculpture is the iconic lobby centerpiece in this arts-focused, luxurious, residential living complex.
Goals
I was commissioned to create a clean, modern, site-specific sculpture, to coordinate well with the architecture of the building. The two-story sculpture is completely integrated into the building's lobby design, as the lobby seating surrounds it, the grand staircase wraps up and around it, and the top of sculpture can be enjoyed by the 2nd floor lofted seating area.
Process
While the original idea for the sculpture originated in the my studio, the concept was modified and adjusted to meet the dimensions of the space, the goals of the project and the needs of the design team. The sculpture was completed on time and within budget. The design team – the building owner, the architect and the art consultant – were all thrilled with the final product.
