Overview
As we struggle to make sense of life after the pandemic, we are looking for signs of hope and more importantly – proof our existence is meaningful. The BEACON is a light at the end of the tunnel, a reminder that there are better days on the horizon. We need to look for the good in each other, support each other, and forge a path to a new future together. Follow the beacon to connect and dream together.
The BEACON is made from over 60 1000L ICB water totes, wrapping 12 DOOR(S), each carefully and creatively mapped in a choreographed light and video show. Two doors will get you entry into the installation while the other 10 will help you find a path to a new future. The centre spire is made of over 225,000 pixels creating an infinity video wall and spire of light reaching the sky.
Goals
Creating a unique, large scale, interactive installation with a message of hope for our local community.
