Overview
Standing as a gateway piece to the newly developed Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City, ‘Taking Flight: Light As A Feather’ is a 7-ton floating steel feather that celebrates Oklahoma’s famous Scissor-tailed Flycatcher Bird, which the park was named for.
Goals
With the construction of a new park in Oklahoma City, the public art committee had the goal of creating a gateway piece that would help draw visitors into the park and stand as an iconic marker for the park itself.
