Overview
Founded in 1988 on a personalized, patient-centered approach to cancer care, Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) are dedicated to tailoring a combination of cancer treatments to the needs of each individual patient. Over time, staff felt improvements could be made to the facilities that would bring the
patient experience more in-line with the high level of care they receive during treatment. ZEBRADOG developed an interior enhancement plan that created an interactive patient story program, healing environments, improved wayfinding, and signature donor interaction.
Goals
ZEBRADOG endeavored to elevate the mission of CTCA by emphasizing the healing power of colorful, graceful, illuminated, and hopeful environments.
Process
Guided by the simple form of a leaf, ZEBRADOG gathered together groves of whole trees where cancer survivors will commemorate life with tactile brass leaves bearing their names and their years of survival. Beyond the Survivor’s Grove, a delicate bundle of glass chimes is illuminated with the color of each Cancer Awareness Month.
