Overview
Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 refresh introduces multimedia installations that blur the lines between nature and architecture, physical and digital, indoor and outdoor. For its third partnership with Changi Airport Group, Moment Factory, in collaboration with design studio BOIFFILS, created two signature multimedia installations aimed at bringing the Garden City’s natural beauty into the newly renovated Terminal 2. The features support the airport’s goal to be a destination in its own right — a vision that’s repeatedly earned it the title of Skytrax World’s Best Airport.
The Departure Hall now features The Wonderfall, a four-storey digital waterfall that invites travellers to pause and admire the magic of nature. Nestled between vertical gardens, a curved LED screen showcases a mesmerizing cascade of water and rock formations. Multiple times an hour, travellers witness a surreal choreography as the flow dramatically reverses course for a 3 1/2-minute show set to a bespoke composition by pianist Jean-Michel Blais
Airside, travellers can unwind in the Dreamscape, a lush garden beneath a sprawling digital sky. Mirroring real-time daylight and meteorological conditions via integration with the airport’s weather system, the overhead installation offers an unexpected view of the outside
Goals
The project's objective was to contribute to the revitalization of Singapore Changi Airport's Terminal 2. In this third collaboration with Changi Airport Group, alongside design studio Boiffils, Moment Factory created two signature installations to bring the magic of nature into the passenger experience. With these installations, travelers will get to immerse themselves in Singapore’s nature with unique experiences in their journey: an awe-inspiring moment at the Wonderfall and a surprising pause under the digital sky in the Dreamscape.
