Overview
In 2015, Studio Lampent was commissioned by University of Gothenburg to design a set of custom pendant lights for a staff room at the faculty of Global Studies.
The result was 5 unique lamps made from reclaimed wood.
The middle lamp was constructed out of a salvaged rocking chair part. This part was the starting point of inspiration for creating the surrounding 4 lights which were made out of reclaimed kitchen countertops. The shapes of the surrounding lights evolved from the rocking chair part, while keeping a symmetrical balance among the set of 5 lamps.
Goals
The goal of the overall interior project was to re-design the space and create custom furniture/lighting from upcycled, sustainable materials. The pendant lights were produced from 100% reclaimed wood.
