Overview
“Running Tap” speaks to our methods of global expansion through oil extraction by turning retired oil transfer pipes into an iceberg sculpture. 13't, 24'l, 8'w. Recycled steel pipe 4″-18″ diameter.
Goals
Our aim was to draw attention to climate change through impactful art by using materials from the local Santa Barbara oil industry and creating sculptural form mimicking an iceberg. This is the beginning of a series of works that are now being launched, around the first documented sighting of Antarctica in 1820.
