Overview
Reawakening is a 45 panel multi-piece work of abstract photography printed on ChromoLuxe circles for Vanderbilt Medical Laboratory.
Goals
The goal of the Collaboration Area project is to create artwork for an inspiring and pleasant space where team members can meet.
Process
The team presented a concept to use my work in random patterns of circles on one wall of a central meeting area. I created 45 circles comprised of six transformations from one abstract image featuring fresh greens and blues of a springtime scene in Tennessee. These images were printed on Chromoluxe circles in three different radii, each mounted at varying distances from the wall. Additional pieces were easily fabricated for a second wall in order to bring more cohesion to this space. My digital video installation featuring 54 morphing iterations emanating from the original photo plays on an existing screen, inviting employees and visitors to reflect on the magic of spring’s reawakening.
Additional Information
This installation achieved the goal of creating a unique and pleasant space with a nod to nature and science.
