Overview
This sculpture is one of the larger of the 3 that were designed and installed in this extended care facility. ” Quilt”, a bronze and cast glass piece is 86″x64″x10″ and is mounted on a painted steel frame.
Goals
'Quilt" is composed of 10 vignettes depicting the various stages of life. It was important to relate the images to the experiences the residents. The sculpture is intimate and approachable. The other sculptures were designed to be placed along pathways that were accessible to all the residents and guests.
Process
For this major project I worked with the client, a landscape architect, construction engineer and hospital staff. It was an exciting collaboration.
Additional Information
In addition to "Quilt", "Deer" and " Fern" were installed along the courtyard path. WVIZ/TV 25 filmed the garden and artwork to show on their network program Applause. To view other commission please visit my website at www.charlottelees.com
