Overview
Dimensions: 8 feet by 40 feet on curved entrance corridor wall. Medium is photomontage on aluminum panels.
Goals
Artwork is a 'non-linear' photomontage of the construction of the Twin Towers using archived photos from the 1960's. Abstracted images of construction photos were merged with images of historical transportation from centuries past. These images were interwoven within areas of pure, vibrant color to give the impression of constant movement.
Process
Collaboration with the Port Authority Architecture Department included designing the work to fit on a curved wall, comply with the use of permanent materials, and to meet installation safety requirements.
Additional Information
This installation has been given landmark status and will be relocated to the WTC at Ground Zero in 2018.
