Overview
Portal was integrated into a health science campus in order to improve and enhance pedestrian space and to create a beautiful and unifying centerpiece for a traffic roundabout. Through its circular shape, the sculpture invites viewers to reflect on the concepts of the interdependence of a community and encourages them to come together as a community through this all-inclusive portal.
Goals
The purpose of the artwork was to improve pedestrian space and create a beautiful and unifying centerpiece for their traffic roundabout. Meant to great incoming freshmen, and send graduates into the world with visions of a great future, Portal is meant to be not only beautiful, but inspire students and visitors to reflect upon their lives and envision a bright future for themselves.
