Overview
By bridging the nano scale to the human scale through advancements in digital fabrication and emerging materials, PolyForm promotes communication and active exchange across disciplines at Cornell University. Integrating environment and community through advances in computational design, PolyForm is a permanent public installation of four perforated, crystalline metal forms framing a high-trafficked thoroughfare on the Cornell University Campus. The project engages personalized architecture through design science at Cornell’s Center of Human Ecology.
Goals
Working with multiple stakeholders to develop PolyForm for Cornell’s College of Human Ecology, JSS created a responsive installation that embodies the College’s mandate to promote human-centered design and personalized experiences through design science.
