Overview
An anchor image for a large lobby space, “Percy Priest Lake” was created for Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and installed at the Pleasant View Clinic, a multi-specialty outpatient facility.
Goals
The VUMC art selection team chose my work when curating art for the new construction of the Pleasant View Clinic (Pleasant View, TN) in order to create a calm and welcoming environment for their healthcare setting.
Process
Having used my work in various public spaces within Vanderbilt University Medical Center, their curation team chose my abstract photograph titled “Percy Priest Lake” while planning the artwork for the lobby of their 25,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art, multi-specialty clinic. The tranquil, neutral shades and subtle textures of this photograph are timeless, bringing color to the approved decor of the space. The flexibility of my artwork enabled us to quickly scale the selected image to a large size (48” x 72”) piece and produce the work within an aggressive time table. We chose a material that is durable and easy to clean, which is important for artwork in this healthcare setting. The use of a floating Chromaluxe panel enriches the space and is harmonious with the bright and open lobby.
Additional Information
I hope this piece of work brings a sense of tranquility to the patients, visitors and healthcare workers at VUMC’s Pleasant View Clinic.
