Overview
Creatmosphere created a 3D outdoors solar light chandelier, the artworks placed inside the jars were made by kids from the local schools. The piece is 15 feet diameter, hanging 20 feet above heads in between 3 trees 200 solar jars illuminate themselves for 5 hours a day.
Goals
The chandelier was placed in a urban park in London as part of a large council regeneration project to create more footfall in green spaces and heritages spaces of the place ( tottenham area) especially at night.
Process
Creatmosphere worked with arts consultant, local schools, local authority and specialist fabricators and riggers to create, produce and suspend safely the structure in the the public space. The 200 jars were programmed in house to light 5 to 6 hours a day everyday and is autonmous on and off and artworks were created by § diffrent schools and local groups.
Additional Information
We added light colours to the interesting elements surrounding the chandelier. Heritage architecture which included the Arts Centre we worked with, and a church and the famous plane trees of London.
