Overview
This work is base on the Steampunk artwork. It’s 9′-4″ x 30″ long, all metal with faux paint, all hand made & welded. I sketch out the initial design, then rendered in Corel Draw. Next I made a 3D model in 3D Max. The made the blueprints, and sent to have it engineered for approval. Once it was approved, I began fabrication, paint, and finally installment.
Goals
My theme idea was based on where it was going to be located (in the middle of the street medium). Then I began to think about who would be viewing my sculpture piece, something for people of all ages. As a love for cars and art, I began to sketch and came up with a Steampunk piece. I integrated vintage car parts, farm pieces, and metal. The Sci-Fi Victorian, mixing an octopus with a time machine.
Process
It began with the committee at Clark County Art Commission, and being chosen with 10 other commission artists. Each did his/her own artwork. I working with Richerson's Construction for the installation, Vector Engineering through Yesco, some youth from the community, and some artist friends from Left of Center Art Gallery.
