Overview
The 50’ x 3’ mosaic depicts a landscape of Earth, Air, and Water in which five branches of the military carry out their work globally. The landscape goes from night to day to night symbolizing the time differences of military family’s lives. The map legends address time and distance reading “Dark of Night–Break of Day” and “Home–Far From Home”. Two 20' tall mosaic and concrete spires form gateway icons. The mosaic spires reprise the themes of the stage mosaic including laurel leaves, symbols of valor, and military service ribbons going back to World War 1.
Goals
