Overview
This project was an addition to an older house, where the owner wanted the new construction to harmonize with the existing structure as well as the other old houses in the neighborhood, while exhibiting some design flair.
Goals
The owner wanted to utilize this project to incorporate artwork into phases of construction that usually don't get any.
Process
The artist came up with the design and produced it, the contractor installed it.
Additional Information
This 3D trim was mastered on the computer, based on 3D scans of a gypsum crystal, and carved in wood on a CNC (computer-controlled) router.
