Overview
Crafted through an intricate process, this sculpture seamlessly combines aluminum casting and fabrication techniques. Beginning with a 3D scan of egg beaters and a light fixture, the sculpture takes shape through aluminum casting and fabrication. EPS foam patterns are utilized in the process, leading to a polychrome paint finish and clear coat for a stunning final touch. Standing at 12 feet in height, with dimensions of 3 feet in width and depth, this sculpture commands attention with its striking presence and meticulous craftsmanship.
Goals
The objective of this sculpture was to symbolize the Martha's Table Foundation, intended for installation in a garden area accessible to the individuals benefiting from the support and education offered by Martha's Table.
Process
The artist Carol Goldberg designed the sculpture from household items which was then 3D Scanned and EPS Foam Patterns milled out for Molding and aluminum Casting. The foundry and the artist collaborated on picking put the vibrant paint colors for the final finish.
