Overview
Dale Hardware, a popular local store, underwent a major renovation and wanted to change their branding. The store is set back from the street so they opted for an island sign with something eye catching. I sketched various ideas, and they chose the humorous design.
Goals
I worked with the architect who designed the island signage to create sculpture of men who appeared to be working there. The pot in the arms of the gardener is changed out seasonally. The artwork has been very well-received by the community and has achieved what the owners hoped would happen.
Process
The artwork is cast in epoxy resin and given a bronze coating. The figures are slightly larger than life.
