Overview

Hand cut paper leave mandalas and a custom faux tree sculpture create this sculpture for the mediation and prayer oom in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Goals

Create a piece for mediative and spiritual purposes. A non religious, yet spiritual piece of work to connect with the space the visitors.

Process

I, the artist, hand cut the paper leaves and designed the tree. A fabricator created the tree sculpture from my design. We worked closely with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia spiritual staff and patient representative group. I went though many drafts before the final piece was decided on. Art group COSACOSA helped connect me to the fabricator who is part of COSACOSA group.

I loved making this piece and would love to create more artwork for places of healing.
