Overview
This project consisted of creating a bronze reproduction of Enrique Alferez's aluminum sculpture titled “Louisiana at Work and Play” located on the facade of Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA, that was installed in the new LSU Medical Education and Innovation Building in Baton Rouge,LA. This entailed 3D-scanning the original on-site (30 feet up), CNC carving in foam and modeling in clay a 63% scale pattern, molding, and casting it in bronze using the lost wax method. The bronze was then installed on a 20' steel and aluminum framework in the lobby of the new building.
