Overview
This is a modest sized bronze sculpture of a mother reading to her two boys.
Goals
The mother was a library employee who died suddenly and in her 30's. The sculpture was designed to be a memorial for a beloved employee, and incidentally as a reminder of the value of reading to your children.
Process
I met several times with the Director of the library to give him ideas for the sculpture. We also met with the parents of the woman (who was divorced) to get their approval. We also met with the Library's Board to get their approval.
Additional Information
The money for the project was gathered from donations, and the request for donations showed the sculpture plans.
