Overview
The $22 million Komatke Health Center, financed by the Gila River Health Care Corporation, is a tribal initiative to provide localized, regional health care outside the greater Phoenix area.
Goals
The comprehensive health care facility gives medicine a personal face with greeters and culturally appropriate surroundings.
Process
The artist conducted a Cultural Values study with the regional tribes which was vetted publicly with the client and users for comment. The cultural images, colors and textures became the baseline for developing the finishes for the facility.
Additional Information
The client believes that the cultural surrounding of the Health Care Facility emotionally supports their clients healing and well-being.
