Client: Sound Transit Board

Overview

The artwork for this parking structure consists of preserved Madrone branches and shimmering dichroic glass squares suspended in wood and glass boxes that were integrated into the façade of the garage. The installation asserts a natural and calming focus into the busy space, offsetting the hectic pace and urgency experienced by daily commuters.

Goals

This artwork is meant to beautify the space and grant a sense of place for visitors to the center through the use of the branches. The colorful dichroic glass squares activates and enlivens the structure.
