Overview

Many international, national and regional kinetic artists submitted their artworks for the outdoor exhibit of the 2015 International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium. www.IntlKineticArtEvent.org The biennial event is produced and managed by the City of Boynton Beach's public art program. Kinetic, Eco and Glass art are the top three art forms identified as a focus in the Public Art Master Plan.

Goals

Kinetic Art is created by artist who push the boundaries of traditional, static art forms to introduce visual experiences that are engaging, benefit society and profoundly change our lives. The kinetic artworks that were selected and sited in the cultural district in the City that is under revitalization. By siting kinetic art in this district it attracts visitors, stimulates cultural interaction and creates a sense of place. This kinetic exhibit and cultural event is unique to the City of Boynton Beach connecting it to the community globally.

Process

The kinetic artists that participated in the 2015 International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium for the outdoor exhibition were iconic and awe inspiring. Many of the artists created kinetic sculptures specifically for this exhibit, shipped it from Singapore and has it permanently sited in the City of Boynton Beach to allow international promotion of his kinetic artwork.

Additional Information

The artist collaborated with the public art manager in the City of Boynton Beach on the challenges to fabricate, ship and install the kinetic artwork. This collaboration resulted in a successful and well received kinetic sculpture for the 2015 International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium.
