Temporary installation project for the Hospital's exhibition/leisure space. The 5 various scale mechanized pieces are composed of re-appropriated medical materials: hypodermic needles, IV tubing and fluid collection apparatus, and utilize water movement as the main visual and sound element for relaxation effect. Titled “HydroLogic”, the project highlights the fragility of environmental hydrologic cycle, and parallels it with the delicate equilibrium of the internal bodily cycles.

Because of the experimental nature of the art-work, the project was temporary and did not contain commissioned work.

Location of the project within a functional hospital space created complexities and additional interior design considerations. From the initial proposal to the final approval, the process involved extensive discussion/collaboration between the artist, artist's assistants, hospital administrators and other hospital staff.

Additional Information

The environmental theme of the exhibition was especially resonant as the project took place while the hospital was still in the process of recovering from damage resulted from Hurricane Sandy.
