Overview

This piece is 60 Linear feet of forged tropical flowers. The floral boxes were 50″l x 15″w x 34″h.

Goals

I wanted the work to be easy for Shahnaz and her team to install. I designed the bases to be adjustable in height on her end. She finished the boxes out with stones to cover the tops and to integrate them into the compartments.

Process

We worked together by Shahnaz first sending images and colors of the installation space. I did some renderings and she got approval from her client to proceed with the design. Once I received my working deposit I began the project which took about ten to twelve weeks in my studio. Each flower and botanical form I made by hand and the pigments as well. Everything was hand painted by myself and my assistant, Deryk.

Additional Information

This was a project that brought me back to some of my earlier work and aesthetics. It was fun to return to a favorite style of work that I hadn't created in a while. Nice to know the style of work and design still holds true.
