Overview
“Hope No. 1 is a 12 panel multi-piece works of abstract photography on metal created for Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).
Goals
The VUMC art selection team chose my work when curating art for the newly renovated Main Hospital Lobby (Nashville, TN) in order to create a soothing, healing environment where people feel welcome.
Process
Having used my work in various public spaces within Vanderbilt University Medical Center, their curation team was familiar with my piece titled “Hope No. 1.” The pastel hues of this abstract photograph inspired VUMC to select this collection for their Main Hospital Lobby. I produced custom artwork by transforming a single “Hope” image into 12 harmonious panels to form a polyptych covering a 90 degree angle at two intersecting walls in the Main Lobby seating area. The flexibility of my artwork enabled us to scale to custom sizes quickly and produce all pieces within an aggressive time table. The use of floating Chromolux panels gives a modern feel to this renovated space, and is durable, easy to clean and beautiful in a healthcare setting.
Additional Information
I'm honored that my work was used to create a comforting environment for the millions of patients, visitors, healthcare workers and employees who visit the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Main Lobby.
