Overview
Over 282 SF of custom printed ceramic tile (each 4″x16″), matte glazed with complete chemical and scratch resistance for easy cleaning and graffiti removal.
Goals
The artwork reproduces the original architectural sketch by Zachary Davis of Federal Ballpark. After several expansions and renovations, this became Wrigley Stadium. The artwork serves as a tribute to Mr. Davis in the upscale hotel named in his honor, Hotel Zachary.
Process
Artwork was researched and submitted in collaboration with Studio K Creative and Laura Cartwright (RCG Art). Custom Tiles, LLC processed the images for digital printing on high-fired ceramic tiles to match the client's size requirements and color specifications.
Additional Information
Tile labeling and the installation grid were supplied to Bourbon Tile & Marble for easy installation. We are grateful to the Davis family for the efforts made to locate and transmit the work of Zachary Davis. Fans of the Chicago Cubs and Major League Baseball now have a historic 'gift' to view as they enjoy the aesthetics of the Zachary Hotel.
