Overview
80 glazed and fired stoneware tiles, each 17 x 17.5 inches , total 36 ft x 6 ft, permanenty installed at Philadelphia International airport
Goals
the idea of design as well as fitting the tile mural into a designated area were integral to its success. I wanted to make an artwork that would be timeless in the airport space.
Process
tiles were glazed on studio floor and delivered to yay clay and after 11 firings completed , then i drove onto the runway at the airport to deliver the tiles to the airport interior and used two helpers to install the artwork permanently in two days.
Additional Information
so many people see this piece , it has many ripple effects, it is part of my series of feathers located in countries all over the world, so it is appropriate to have this one located at the airport of the city where i live
