Overview
6061 aircraft aluminum burnished and polished. 40x25x25 ft
Goals
To give the idea of abstract leaf shapes. Gently going to rest on the floor. It is quite dramatic because the ceiling height were almost 80 feet.
Process
Polished and burnished with oil. 6061 aircraft aluminum. Hung with braided stainless steel wire.
Additional Information
The pieces are polished as to give the effect of roundness and also picking up ambient light so that work changes as the light conditions of the day change. This process developed by me and Raul Cabreras allows the metal to act as a lense that captures ambient light.
