Overview
An image captured during a photography session for Fort Lauderdale Magazine, May Edition, 2023. This was an opportunity to share my surfing photography of Fort Lauderdale native and surfing legend Dutch Schorn. My photography is very unique in that I actually swim into the surfing line-up with the surfers to capture my images. This is one of the pictures we captured during my photography session with Dutch inside a “Curl” off the Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Goals
The goal was to share the abundant but unknown surfing opportunities on the Fort Lauderdale Beach, with the local residents and visitors to our great city.
Process
We researched the perfect weather for show-casing our surf, and executed a plan to capture special moments in the ocean.

This is called a "Dragon Curl" and was captured on the Fort Lauderdale Beach.
