Client: Medical Services Management

Overview

The project involved curating and expanding the corporate art collection of a medical services management company in Orange, Orange County. Over 50 artworks were needed for installation across two floors, including conference rooms, private offices, open plan offices, cubicle areas, corridors as well as 3 kitchens/cafeterias.

Goals

100% of the art was commissioned for this project. In order to stretch the budget and allow for an interesting blend of framed and unframed art to complement the existing collection, Blue Tangerine Art Advisors commissioned large scale hand-embellished paintings on canvas for conference rooms, the cafeteria and long open wall spaces, and smaller framed giclee prints on paper for private offices. The focus on only 3-4 artists - including myself - brought cohesion to the collection and consistency across office areas.

Process

Blue Tangerine Art collaborated with the client whose passion for art meant she desired close involvement on the selection of artists and individual artworks. Given the number and scale of artworks required, including some 5 ft plus, they needed the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of including giclee prints on paper and hand-embellished multiples on canvas.

As the art consultant and an artist on this project, I was able to oversee the entire creative process, coordinating selection of vendors for photography, printing and framing to ensure the highest quality. The client selected my work (and that of 2 other artists) for both large scale hand-embellished multiples and for framed prints on paper.
