Centre Pointe Housing Development – Milpitas, CA.
Convergent Energies sculpture reflects
the dynamic Silicon Valley lifestyle. Its sinuous and
convergent shapes compliment the quiet and relaxing
architectural geometry of the surrounding buildings in
a harmonious dialog, creating an identifying symbol for
the Centre Pointe development.
Goals
The goal of including a large artwork piece in this contemporary high end housing development in the City of Milpitas, CA was to to create an identity for its location in the Silicon Valley and visually enhance the aesthetics of the modern architectural design of the buildings.
Process
The design proposal was presented to the City of Milpitas Arts Commission and and coordinated with D. R. Horton Development company, the builder of the site.
The 5,000 stainless steel sculpture was fabricated by the 100 years old Van Beeber Bros. metal company located in Petaluma, CA.
