Overview

For Carolyn Pope Edwards Hall at University of Nebraska Lincoln, we propose a series of baskets; woven structures that bundle together a number of materials, colors and design expressions to float above study niches and other collaboration spaces scattered throughout the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building. Small groups of baskets create little clouds that enliven those spaces with color and a subtle play of light and shadow upon the space’s walls. The result will be a suspended network of woven structures that hang down the ceiling at various heights.

Bundling is about bringing people together to learn, collaborate and share knowledge

Process

Like clouds, the baskets are light structures. Their ephemeral quality will have a subtle movement as they hover over the space and capture light and shadow throughout the day
