Overview
Interactive Mural, Sensory Room Elements, Optical Illusion. The Mural was a Nursery playroom in Crisis Centre (441 square feet) for children aged 0-4. This room carried educational elements that help with the development of child’s brain. Being an interactive mural with many elements and characters allows children to voice out their interpretation of the wall pictures, Knock on the doors, and imagine who lives there.. Large Mushrooms that “grow” out of the walls and create a shelter from rain/sun, add an element of play. The materials include: plaster for 3D sensory feel, and special paint that will provide a long-lasting effect.
This mural implements elements of the sensory room with an emphasis on child psychology
Goals
As this room was a Crisis Nursery for children, an artwork was commissioned to make children's stay at the Children's Cottage Enjoyable. Children will spend time away from parents and this room will be able to make them focus on fun interactive aspect rather than separation from the parents
