A plastic cap. An unused goblet. A birthday balloon exhausted of its lift.

An offhanded comment. A moment of gossip. A quip tossed out without thought.

Cast Away suggests that the things we believe to be temporary or disposable actually hold a permanence and power that can be easily overlooked. Created mostly of found and repurposed objects, discarded by their original owners, this installation was designed to challenge the concept of value and demonstrate the potential of the words and objects we so easily throw away.
