Overview
I was asked to design a shelter with “some interesting lines” so after some back and forth, I cam up with an idea to cantilever the structure to keep the view viable, keeps the welcoming path that starts just past the the structure open and has some sculptural interest as well
Goals
The clients love their garden and love natural elements, so it was very important to create a garden sculpture the also serves as a car port. The rust finish blends in with natural gardens
Process
Sketches, mock ups and full scale plywood sections to give a sense of scale were done before fabrication started.
Additional Information
Forged and textured elements were a key part of the structure
