Overview
BRICKHEAD 3 is a ceramic brick sculpture with interactive sound elements. Passersby are often surprised as they encouter the calls of birds and insects, wind and rain that emanate from inside the ceramic blocks. Nature reinhabiting the urban landscape.
Goals
Davlan Park is at the gateway of the Massachusetts Avenue Art and Design District. Public art was always part of the concept for both private and public development. It was a question of building the needed coalition and working out a consensus.
Process
Brickhead 3 was originally installed as a featured artwork for the annual NCECA Conferance. A community organization in collaboration with the of Indianapolis found the funds to purchase the artwork as part of a wider program aimed at integrating public art into neighborhoods throughout the city.
