Overview
Franklin Templeton commissioned me to create representations of their famous mascot, Ben Franklin, as realistic as possible. I sculpted him relaxed, reading from a book for the main lobby. The client also requested large medallions for all the conference rooms and small medallions throughout the campus.
Goals
The architects who had designed the renovated campus has established locations for the artwork. I only needed to work from their suggested measurements. The client requested a timeless dark bronze finish to complement the exquisite woodwork.
Process
Per the GC's suggestion, the 3-D sculpture in the lobby and the exterior medallions are all bronze. The large medallions in the conference rooms are cast in a lightweight resin with a matching bronze finish.
